Video: Robyn – Hang With Me

Posted by Shan on July 26th, 2010 | No Comments

It’s Robyn central around here lately! Today Robyn dropped her video for her new single Hang With Me, which interestingly made it to the web via her official website before a proper version/rip of the song made it to the web. Apparently she’s ahead of the game on this one. The video was directed by Max Vitali.

The video, which appears to be shot over several months takes us on a journey of a day (or 20) in the day in the life of a pop star. It features various shots of Robyn in photo shoots, riding roller coasters, performing live, meeting fans and many other things. It leaves us a bit jealous of the life!

It’s definately not what I pictured the video to be but it does capture to process in which the Body Talk album(s) are being created. Not as one whole “run into the studio and hammer this out in two weeks” thing, but rather over time while she is around the world performing and creating.

We think Hang With Me is sure to be a smash ala With Every Heartbeat.

Kaci Battaglia, Body Shots (Dave Aude Radio Edit)

Posted by Shan on July 21st, 2010 | No Comments

We have yet to discuss Kaci here at Fresh, Yesh and I think now is a great time. I don’t want to get into all of her past work but note that Kaci has been on the music scene for many years starting out at the turn of the century with such pop classics as Paradise and I Think I Love You.

After taking a backseat to the music scene Kaci came exploding back last year with her sexed up image and club banger Crazy Possessive (see video below) and made a new spot for herself on the dance scene. I was beginning to think after Crazy Possessive that her label had (for some reason) given up on her as it took nearly a year to announce a new single. Finally it was announced that her next single would be Body Shots which had leaked online months and months earlier.

With Ludacris added to the track, the official mixes are now making the rounds. What better way to start out your hump day than with a little Kaci? Listen to the Dave Aude mix of Body Shots below.

Kylie Joins the Scissor Sisters on Stage at Glastonbury

Posted by Shan on June 26th, 2010 | No Comments

Jake Shears is one lucky guy. He’s part of a global band, has the looks and if that weren’t enough his best friend is fucking Kylie Minogue. Kylie joined Jake and the crew on stage to perform their next single Any Which Way which actually feature Kylie on backup vocals for their new cd Night Work which comes out next Tuesday.

It was nice to see that it wasn’t just a sloppy “join me on stage” performance. They had plenty of choreographed dance moves worked out and it all came out perfect and leaving me a little jealous of Jake Shears.

Robyn Announces Body Talk Part 2 and New Single

Posted by Shan on June 23rd, 2010 | 1 Comment

Keeping with her word that she would release her new album in three parts, Robyn has announced the release of Body Talk Part 2 on the heels of her hot new single Dancing On My Own. And the follow up single is an uptempo electronic version of Hang With Me which was on Part One as an acoustic piece. Both are set to be released on September 6th.

I’m glad to see this project is still rolling along, I was a bit worried that she would get caught up in touring and promoting and might end up with the project never seeing completion or being drawn out over a far longer period than a year (although she’ll have to hurry to get the final part in by years end). I guess this is the great thing about running your own record company she didn’t have to wait for all the red tape!

Personally I’m a fan of the acoustic version of Hang With Me so I’m quite curious to hear what the uptempo version will sound like. In the mean time I will continue to jam to Dancing on My Own which is quickly becoming a pop classic in my book!

Oh Adam. You look like a cross between Linda Perry in her 4 Non Blondes days and Stevie Nicks. Girl, you so crazy.

Kylie Performs ‘All the Lovers’ on German Top Model

Posted by Shan on June 11th, 2010 | No Comments

If you’re a Kylie fan you’ve probably already witnessed this awesomeness. This performance is so stellar and well choreographed but it brings the video to life in such a perfect simplistic way. I would have been okay with them trotting a white horse or giant inflatable elephant out on to the stage, but I digress.

The only part of the performance that can be a bit of a downer is the fact that Kylie can barely move around all the writhing bodies, and her dress gets stuck several times. There was a wind machine which is the reason for the flowing dress, but it all doesn’t come together as it should.

And just when you think it’s all over, there’s the nice little ‘wave’ at the end.

In other Kylie news, Get Outta My Way is set to be single two and is coming out in September. It seems to be a fan favorite and from the snippet in the megamix it’s a sure fire hit. The same article that this information was taken from also quotes a source saying that the album is so chocked full of single material that we will see four to five singles from Aphrodite… bring it.

La Lopez es muy patético

Posted by Justin on June 5th, 2010 | No Comments

This is just sad. Albeit not unexpected, but still sad. Jennifer Lopez opened up the World Music Awards 2010 recently and was dreadful. She tries to impress us with her pole dancing, or cane dancing, and her craptastic medley of songs that WERE hits, but upon reflection, I can’t tell why they reached the top of the charts or thereabouts. Despite a recent hit film, her music career is worse than…anybody else, really. RuPaul has better hit songs than La Lopez. Even though her love doesn’t cost a thing, I still don’t want it. She actually will now have to pay me to accept her love, music, films or the belief that her marriage is great. And where is that Love? album anyways…
