I have to say I love Rihanna’s Rated R. From start to finish, it’s pretty damn great. It was totally out of left field in terms of what everyone was expecting her to do which I think has made the reception a bit sluggish, but anyone I know who has listened to it in entirety thinks it’s a good body of work. Maybe it’s a fluke of right people together at the right time. While I can see some of her personal shizz coming through the music, I also think too many people are assuming it’s a literal transcription of events. Really, do you think Rihanna is condoning suicide? I doubt it. Leave that to the pro’s -- Insane Clown Posse.
She recently just performed some songs at AOL’s Studio Sessions, and this by far stood out as one of the best performances. Check out the video for Hard after the jump -- it’s my favorite so far from the album.
