Check out the photos below from the new recording sessions of the Michael Jackson classic, “We Are the World”. With the Grammy’s still in town, stars gathered at the same recording studio that the original was sung in.  Proceeds of the re-recording to are set help relief efforts in Haiti.

Other stars not featured in the gallery that made an appearance are: Kanye West, Tony Bennett, Snoop Dogg, Jamie Foxx, Jeff Bridges, LL Cool, will.i.am and Wyclef Jean, T-Pain, Nicole Scherzinger, Harry Connick, Jr., Katharine McPhee, Robin Thicke, Josh Groban, Lil’ Wayne, Jennifer Hudson, Rob Thomas, Carlos Santana, India.arie. J and Justin Bieber.

Also rumored to be included are Lady Gaga, Bono and Sheryl Crow.

The video is set to premiere February 12 during the Winter Olympics, according to AEG Live executive Randy Phillips. Immediately after its TV debut, the track will be available for purchase online. Proceeds benefit the newly-minted non-profit, the We Are the World Foundation.

Producer Quincy Jones, the man behind the 1985 original song that featured Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen and others, confirmed the planned remake. Of the remake, Jones had this to say:

It’s the 25th anniversary and it’s perfect timing. It’s not an accident, man. That’s God. It will be ‘We Are the World’ for Haiti.

I’m excited to hear the new recording, I could pass on some of the people included but it will be interesting to hear how 80 artists are going to make it into such a short amount of time!
