I’ll freely admit that I’m a huge Hanson fan, in fact in the last 5 years I’ve been to the concerts of the Spice Girls, Madonna, and Janet Jackson and I can say with certainty that above all of them Hanson was my favorite (and much cheaper!)

Sadly, the public has written them off of as a prepubescent one-hit-wonder of the 90′s when they have been putting out several albums over the last few years, all of stellar quality. They are actually a for real band. One of the better  parts of Hanson is that they really do care about their fans and are constantly providing extras to them. In fact,  next month they will be holding a series of concerts in New York for their fans each night over a 5 day period featuring one of their albums live. Last month they offered voting to their fans on songs to be song at their concerts via their website.

Their new album “Shout It Out!” is due out June 1st and this is what Taylor had to say about their new album:

Album titles are meant to reflect the overall message and tone of an album.  This record pulls from a fresh energy and optimism as a band and it more clearly references the music that first inspired us, 50′s and 60′s soul and rock ’n’ roll. The title Shout It Out stood out early on in the record process, as a phrase that helped put all those elements into one simple statement.

The video for their first single off the last album was titled “Go” and was written by the youngest Hanson, and also featured him in the video. Check it out after the cut.

  2. I didn’t get to tell you this story yesterday: I was at the library and there was a teenage boy, probably about 15, the type who looks like he starts fights or will take your wallet. Well, he was loitering around the checkout stations. He started talking to me and I realized he was mentally underdeveloped or ‘slow’ or however you want to put it. He then goes, “Do you know Hanson? They are my favorite band. They haven’t been popular in a while though…”

I couldn’t get out of the situation fast enough.
