I Am…OVER YOU, Beyonce!

Posted by Justin on May 3rd, 2010 | No Comments

Once a Beautiful Liar, now just a big fat one, Beyonce has released a teaser to yet another g-dee video off her I Am… deluxe, superfantastic, re-released orgasm-inducing ho-hum album. That brings us to a total of 9 songs from this project!

Weren’t you going off to make a baby or have a rest? And if you show up on this weekend’s SNL with Jay-Z and Betty White, I’m going to be livid. Thin ice, Beyonce, thin ice. And I don’t even know what to think of this anyway. But I know I’m more interested in it than Christina’s crappy video, so that’s saying something – blatantly, it’s saying that Christina’s new video is awkwardly hypersexual.

Check out the teaser…

I’m getting sick of all these songs about phones

Posted by Justin on March 24th, 2010 | No Comments

This entire thing is better than the original in our estimation. All of the ‘Yonce tude is amazingly great. “If you think I’m doing this, you’re a crazy bastard…” -- perfection.

Video: Lady Gaga feat. Beyonce – Telephone

Posted by Shan on March 11th, 2010 | 3 Comments

You can untwist your panties now. It has arrived.

The video is actually really good even for being nine minutes long. The minimal effects were in all the right places and everything worked well. But honestly I do not see why it took us this long to get the video. Post production could not have taken that long.

Listen for the beginning where Gaga pokes fun at the hermaphrodite rumors. That’s a good laugh before getting into the goods. If there was any serious post editing done, it was to make sure she really did look like a woman in that bikini scene. Damn!

Gaga manages to just wear more outfits than product placements. It was a close call but she managed to really pack ‘em in there towards the end. And Jai Rodriguez’s guest spot was about as long as his career. Don’t blink.

We’ve just noticed that there are several versions of the video already. Originally they censored Gaga saying “Motherfucker” in the car. Now it’s not. And the prison cell scene at the beginning where they rip her clothes off originally cut away from a blurred out ass shot, and now it is a full front blurred and she jumps up and hang off the bars on the door. Which version have you seen?

More “Telephone” Preview Photos

Posted by Shan on March 9th, 2010 | 1 Comment

As we wait with baited breath for the arrival of the Telephone video from Gaga and Beyonce we have been blessed with even more promo photos. It’s really quite sad that it has taken this long to get the video to us considering she has already announced the third single from The Fame Monster to be Alejandro. So soak up these photos and continue to wait. The video is really, really, really supposed to drop this Thursday on E!

Love ya Gaga, but sometimes your perfectionist antics can really piss us off.

According to the official press release, the video is a whopping 9 minutes long. So get a bucket of popcorn with extra butter ready.

This Taylor Swift business

Posted by Justin on February 5th, 2010 | 2 Comments

I wanted to just say a few words about this entire Taylor Swift Grammy performance hoopla. First of all, let’s get all our ducks in a row.

Taylor Swift performed on the Grammys and anyone who watched will tell you it was not good. Then Stevie Nicks joined her on stage and the entire situation became painfully awkward to watch. Many agree it was a mistake to put someone so fresh next to a living rock legend with one of the most powerful and distinct voices in the industry.

Despite this poor performance, Swift still went on to collect four awards, including Album of the Year. Well, like clockwork, after everyone rallied behind this doe-eyed country singer and she picked up her awards, the backlash began. People on blogs commented and the media picked up on the fact that Swift’s performance was awful, and maybe she wasn’t Grammy worthy. You be the judge.

My Grammy Morning After Pill

Posted by Justin on February 1st, 2010 | No Comments

If you want the all-encompassing review, check out Shan’s post. Me? I wish I could take a morning after pill for last night’s awards. I liken them to a night of drinking: you start, and you’re on a buzz and having a great time. Then there’s a lull, so you just forge through it all by continuing to drink and by the end of the night, it’s not fun anymore, you’re hazy and all you want to do is go home and go to bed or throw up. By the time we reached album of the year, I was ready to throw up.

The 2010 Grammys were pretty much what I expected – Gaga being avante gardy, Beyonce being over the top while performing and yet utterly humble upon winning her countless awards and Taylor Swift getting more praise than what I think is deserved. And lots of filler – Green Day and their musical bit, DMB, Zac Brown Band, and who gives a shit about Bon Jovi anymore? Even the tiny hobbit Justin Bieber misread the prompter as Beyonce, surely because he’d never seen the words ‘Bon Jovi’ together before. Or he can’t read, because he’s only this many (holds up 6 fingers).

Whatever – more unloading after the jump.

Shan’s Grammy 2010 Wrap-Up

Posted by Shan on February 1st, 2010 | No Comments

I’m not really a fan of awards shows quite frankly but Justin and I thought it would be fun to follow along with the Grammy’s, so I decided to put all judgments and inhibitions aside and jump in. Award shows in general, I just don’t get. Congrats to all but it’s a little mind numbing to me. The Grammy’s are “the big one” so everyone watches but no one got to vote. If I’m going to really get into an awards show then let it be one where I at least got to have my say. The point was made that it’s not always fair when fans get to choose because a small rabid fan base can get an award to someone who didn’t really deserve it, and while that is true at least it was decided by the fans, even if so – unfairly.

Justin and I did the full gauntlet, we jumped into the live telecast online and began updating around 4:30 pm yesterday and we went all the way to 11 o’clock. Can I get a Grammy for that achievement?
