Watch Gaga’s in-depth interview, feel awkward

Posted by Justin on May 30th, 2010 | No Comments

For better or worse, the interview Lady Gaga has done with SHOWstudio is terribly interesting. However, she seems tired and sad or lonely perhaps. Despite all that she’s done, it’s as if she’s become this victim of her own creation at times. As an artist and person, she is captivating – no doubt. Smart, heartfelt and tender and equally distant or removed. She’s pulling out a True Blue era Madonna look, which is really just a look stolen from the Hollywood glamour from the earlier part of the 20th century.

Watch it now. Get your A to Gaga.

Madonna doing ’83 in ’10

Posted by Justin on May 3rd, 2010 | No Comments

Dear Madonna, mother of pop music:

Sometimes you completely lose me. But sometimes you do things so, so, SO right that I remember why we all love you and why we all must bow down to you for the extravaganza eleganza that you bring, as seen in your new May cover of Interview, my favorite magazine (although it takes forever to arrive in the damn mail). I mean, this is HOT! Check out more pics on their website and be sure to check out the interview with director Gus Van Sant when the mag hits shelves!

Madonna’s Personals go up for Auction

Posted by Shan on May 3rd, 2010 | No Comments

Over the weekend a bunch of Madonna memorabila went up for auction on eBay including photos and journals that were in the possesion of Madonna’s first personal assistant Melissa Crowe. She fell behind on her storage unit payments and per her contract with the storage facility the items were sold dirt cheap for $150 to an unnamed seller when Melissa couldn’t make the payments.

Now Melissa is contacting all Madonna fansites and blogs asking them to ask fans to not bid on the personal items. Bitch, you didn’t make your payments. Own it. It’s like if your car got repo’d, you wouldn’t be hanging up fliers around the dealership asking people to not buy your car. You didn’t follow the rules, plain and simple.

Secondly, fans are up in arms that her personal items are being sold. Again I refer you back the paragraph before this one.  I’ve seen comments like “These things are not his to sell, they are not rightfully his.” Actually, yes, yes they are. There are rules, they weren’t followed, it happens to people every day. Get. Over. It.

Of course, he’s asking way too much for these items. But, if you have the money laying around…

Fatal Attraction: Glenn and Madonna

Posted by Justin on April 26th, 2010 | No Comments

I find it wonderful that Glenn Close goes home and puts on wine and listens to the Erotica album, according to an interview she did in the Daily Record. Wonderful in that “I’m not going to be ignored, Dan” kind of way. I will say that I still love the Erotica album -- it’s pretty unfiltered and raw. When you think about when it came out, I mean really after the height of Vogue and Justify My Love, to go so dark, sexually, is kind of ballsy (pun intended). And to call out the David Fincher directed Bad Girl specifically…Glenn, you naughty girl:

Q: How do you relax?
GC: I come home after recording Damages and I pour myself a large glass of red wine and play Madonna.

Q: Any Madonna album in particular?
GC: Oh, have you ever heard her Erotica album?

Q: Er….no? *scared Glenn may freak out*
GC: Oh my god, get on youtube and watch ‘Madonna, Bad Girl’ video man! *laughs*, that album is just genius and I guess it has so many memories for me and the first time I ever saw her live in MSG (Madison Square Gardens), I saw her live in 2008 and I got the chance to go backstage and I was so scared! (laughs) but she is lovely and she is fan of Damages, so not a bad compromise right…!

Za real Glee

Posted by Justin on April 9th, 2010 | No Comments

So the Glee kids were on Oprah, however, this was fun to see -- the inspiration for the show. And their amazing performance of Vogue, choreographed by Reinvention Tour dance captain Zach Woodle. Their performance was based on Madonna’s iconic performance at the MTV Music Video Awards in 1990, which you can watch after the jump.

Paint your own Alejandro video

Posted by Justin on March 24th, 2010 | No Comments

On what seems like the heels of the (tardy) release of the (overly hyped) Telephone video, Madame Gaga is prepping for her next single Alejandro, allegedly tapping longtime Madonna collaborator Steven Klein to helm the video. I love his work so I hope this is true. PopJustice is featuring a fun contest for people to storyboard their own ideas for the Gaga video. Here’s a snippet of mine:

Get started on your and submit via PopJustice – entries due April 1.
