What I’ve determined is that if Katy Perry just did dance music (or anyone really…) I would be so on board with her from the get-go. However, she doesn’t. She does make some catchy songs and good pop songs, but at times her lyrics are so retarded and trite that I just find her nauseating at times. But I digress.
Let’s talk about each track on Teenage Dream, shall we?
Keri Hilson was up for Best New Artists of the Year at this year’s Grammy Awards, but she didn’t win. Ho-hum. She’s been in the business for a while, in the background and such and just came out with her debut album in 2009. This track, I Like, does not appear on that album and I think is going to be included on a re-release of her album In A Perfect World. The song is tearing up the charts in Europe and was written and recorded for a German film. Manhattan Clique did a remix that is just ace. The video was to be equal parts Keri and footage from the film, but this version is total Keri.
