A few months ago I decided to write my memoirs, a project I knew was going to bring me closer to an amazing turning point in my life. From the moment I wrote the first phrase I was sure the book was the tool that was going to help me free myself from things I was carrying within me for a long time. Things that were too heavy for me to keep inside. Writing this account of my life, I got very close to my truth. And this is something worth celebrating.

I read a tidbit this morning that Barbara Walters admitted that if she regrets one thing, it would be putting Ricky Martin on the spot about his sexuality in a 2000 interview. She thinks it ruined his career because it left everyone assuming he was.

Part of me is glad she had admitted that, but you know he puts himself in the situation as to whether it’s questioned so he made his own choices. Then I just want to slap Barbara for being so arrogant as to think that she had the power to destroy his career.

Lest we not forget that since that interview he has put out a grand total of one new English speaking album, which went to #6 in America. I don’t think you can really consider it “destroying” a career when he had a top 10 album and the album Sound Loaded that came out around the time of the interview went to #2.

Step back Babs, you ain’t that big. And you sure ain’t Oprah.
